GRABS researcher Aron Tesfai participated in a high level policy dialogue on Migration, Urbanisation and People’s Health hosted by Wits University, Johannesburg, South Africa on 29 October 2026.
Aron presented some of the findings from the GRABS project in South Africa in a presentation entitled Everyday Bordering as a Structural and Psychosocial Determinant of Health among Young Refugees in South African Cities
The presentation highlighted the ways in which structural violence and exclusion negatively impacts on young people’s mental health and well-being and the strategies they may employ to overcome these challenges.
The paper was illustrated by the photographs produced by young people during GRABS photography workshops
