On 20th of June, Jessi took part in the PhD Conference ‘Reimagining Migration: Decolonisation and Identity Across Time and Space’, organised by the Migration Research Group at the University of Sheffield, UK. Jessi contributed to the panel on Temporalities and Geographies with a presentation entitled ‘Temporality and Geographies’ with a presentation titled Temporality and Borders: The Role of Time in Border Violence, Mobility Control and Everyday Lives of People on the Move. The presentation explored theoretical concepts around the heterogeneity and multiplication of borders, focusing on the temporal dimension of border violence and the role of time in shaping control, mobility, and lived experiences. We are grateful to the Migration Research Group for hosting this stimulating event and to all participants for their thoughtful and inspiring contributions.
